HOUSTON - For the third straight year, the Bayou City held steady as No. 6 on the list of top moving destinations in the United States in 2012.

Penske Truck Rental compiles the list using data from its online consumer truck rental reservations and call centers. Here’s the full list and last year’s rank:

  • No. 1 — Atlanta, Ga. (unchanged);
  • No. 2 — Dallas-Fort Worth (4);
  • No. 3 — Phoenix, Ariz. (2);
  • No. 4 — Orlando, Fla. (3);
  • No. 5 — Chicago, Ill. (unchanged);
  • No. 6 — Houston (unchanged);
  • No. 7 — Denver, Colo. (unchanged);
  • No. 8 — Seattle, Wash. (unchanged);
  • No. 9 — Charlotte, N.C. (10); and
  • No. 10 — Sarasota, Fla. (9)
