PEARLAND - For the third consecutive year, Pearland has been named the fastest growing among Texas’ 50 largest retail markets, according the Texas Retail Survey. The survey ranks cities based on annual retail sales growth rate for the previous five years.

During that five-year period, Pearland was the fastest growing retail market at 9.2 percent. Houston ranked No. 10 among, with a 4.1 percent annual average retail growth rate.

Other Houston-area cities in the top 50 included Sugar Land at 2.6 percent; Pasadena, 2.3 percent; Conroe, 1.3 percent; and Baytown, 1.2 percent. By comparison, the state's retail growth for the five years was 2.7 percent.

Pearland is home to several retail centers including Pearland Town Center by CBL & Associates (937,000 sf), Silverlake Village (750,000 sf), the Crossing at 518 by Cencor (500,000 sf) and Shadow Creek Ranch Town Center by AmREIT (616,000 sf).
