LUBBOCK – Lubbock is the 19th best-run city in the country, according to 24/7 Wall. St., who released the results of their ranking of the 100 largest cities in the United States.

Lubbock benefits from a relatively stable economy. Home values in the city increased by more than 14 percent between 2007 and 2011, higher than all but two of the 100 most populous cities.

Foreclosures in Lubbock were next to nonexistent in 2011. The unemployment rate of 6.1 percent in 2011 was the sixth-lowest of all large cities.

Lubbock has a credit rating of Aa2 and the violent crime per 1,000 people was the 32nd highest at 7.68.
