Texas named 2012’s top state by business magazine
TEXAS - Business Facilities magazine has crowned Texas as its 2012 state of the year for having "the most dynamic economy of any state in the nation."
States submit a breakdown of their five largest projects to be considered for the list. Texas’ top five projects yielded nearly 9,000 jobs, according to the magazine. Other states in the top five include Louisiana, South Carolina, Georgia and Utah.
Texas has received a number of similar accolades in recent months.
It made the top ten on Forbes’ latest list of “The Best States for Business” and took the No. 3 spot on Site Selection magazine’s 2012 list of the best business climates in the U.S. In October, the Tax Foundation’s 2013 State Business Tax Climate Index said Texas has one of the top business-tax climates.
