Brownsville airline taking flight to Vegas

BROWNSVILLE – Allegiant Air begins year-round, nonstop service between Brownsville and Las Vegas, with the first flight departing Brownsville South Padre Island International Airport at 5:30 p.m.

The Las Vegas-based discount air carrier announced in February that it was bringing service to Brownsville. Its part of a 22-route expansion, the company’s biggest.

Starting today, Allegiant will fly nonstop to Las Vegas McCarran International Airport twice a week, on Thursdays and Sundays.
