Construction sets sail for Islands of Rockport

ROCKPORT – Work is underway on the 120-acre Islands of Rockport site near Business Hwy. 35 S. Contractors are working on bulkheads, dredging, and utilities for 50 waterfront home sites

Developer DeAyala Properties seeks to have the first phase complete in August 2013, according to Julian “Kiki” DeAyala, the owner of the company.

The home sites range in size from 8,000 to 21,000 sf and all lots will be waterfront. Canals in the development will have a width between 100 to 130 feet. The home sites start from $250,000.

There will be five phases in the development, according to DeAyala. Subsequent phases of the 120-acre development will include 130 additional home sites. Included in the master plan are a resort-style pool and clubhouse, marina, resort hotel, fitness center, restaurants and retail center.
