MIDLAND – Mid-Cities Community Church staff held an open house and building dedication for the new 54,000-sf children’s building located at 8700 W. SH 191.

The 12-month construction project totaled $14 million with $11 million being spent to build the entirely new children’s facility.

The remaining $3 million was used to purchase property near the church, build the parking lot and renovate some of the existing structures, said Chris Kelly, the pastor of business and finance.

The original sanctuary was also renovated for the Mid-Cities Espanol, all Spanish service, with room to add up to 200 individuals to each service. Currently, 110 to 120 individuals meet.

The old space available for the children’s department, which was approximately 17,000 sf, now will be turned into classrooms for adults.
