RICHARDSON - The University of Texas at Dallas plans to begin a $53.25 million student living and learning center on its Richardson campus this week.
The 235,000-sf complex will house 600 students and will be the central dining facility for all five residence halls on campus. The facility could serve up to 800 students. Other amenities include a 25,000-sf gymnasium and fitness area, a multipurpose classroom, snack bar, laundry facilities and lounge areas.
The project is scheduled for completion in August 2014. UT-Dallas is seeking LEED Silver certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for the center.
