Business booms east of Odessa

ODESSA – Construction is underway on the Parks Legado Town Center shopping district and other developments, such as the Sewell Volkswagen auto dealership, which will rest adjacent to Parks Legado along SH 191, east of Odessa.

Parks Legado is an upscale retail development that will also have hotels. That development began in spring 2012, according to Don Epperson, president of Epperson Company, a real estate development firm based in Dallas.

The Parks Legado Town Center — which will have at least 15 stores — sits on 35 acres, with the auto dealership set to open next door, Epperson said.

Residence Inn by Marriott is set to open in March and the Sewell Volkswagen auto dealership is set to open this year as well.

Leeco Properties will be developing a 75,000-sf shopping center next to Parks Legado that will have a Discount Tire, McAlister’s restaurant and other businesses, according to Larry Lee, the owner.

The project, which will sit on seven acres, will be done by the end of 2013.
