BELTON – Construction is underway on a 23,000-sf Goodwill store and learning center at the corner of Sparta Rd. and Commerce Dr. The $2.7 million facility is expected to open in June or July 2013 according to Christina Taylor, a Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries spokeswoman.

Currently, the project is in the dirt-work phase. The addition of the new facility will create 20-25 jobs and will offer services related to job searches, resume writing, interviewing techniques and job retention.

The center will be larger than Goodwill’s facility on South 31st St. in Temple, which is 19,000 sf.

The Belton store and learning center will be the region’s largest except for Heart of Texas Goodwill’s New Rd. headquarters in Waco.
