COLLEGE STATION - The skyline of Northgate, across from Texas A&M University, is continuing to grow.

The newest landmarks of Northgate include the six-story The Stack and 18-story Rise on Northgate. Both student apartment developments will open for the fall semester.

The Stack will include retail space and a parking garage, and construction costs were estimated at $25 million, according to state filings. Four-bedroom units at The Stack will rent for $675 per person per month and one-bedroom units will lease for $975.

Construction on The Stack’s 209 units supporting 415 beds is set to be finished by July 2013. Developer Jack Culpepper expects the development to be at full occupancy within two years.

The Rise at Northgate will have one bedrooms for $1,100 per person and four or six bedrooms for $775 per person monthly. Construction costs have been estimated at $30 million, according to state filings.

The site of the imploded Plaza Hotel is set to become a multimillion dollar development of apartments, restaurants and retail and is expected to be finished by the fall of 2014.
