2016: Midland’s new H-E-B to include BBQ restaurant

MIDLAND – The new Westside H-E-B is set to open in spring 2016 and will include gas and diesel pumps and a barbecue restaurant.

 The 112,000-sf store will be built at the site of the demolished AT&T call center. 

About 300 employees will be hired for the new store. The store will have a True Texas BBQ restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and to-go options.

The current H-E-B store in Midland is more than 118,000 sf, according to the Midland County Appraisal District.

H-E-B is also planning to open a second, 19,000-sf store in the sister city of Odessa, according to an article by the Odessa-American. The new Odessa store, which also will also feature a True Texas BBQ, is expected to open in July.
