Development projects underway in Odessa

ODESSA – The Odessa Economic Development Corporation has released a list of developments that are in the pipeline, underway or have recently been completed.
- Odessa College: The revamped Sports Complex and the Culinary Arts buildings are close to completion. The Lifelong Learning Center is set for completion in March 2013; the Campus Center in July 2013; the Wood Math and Science building in July 2013 and the Vehicle Tech Center in August 2013.
- UTPB: The school is making preparations to the Mesa Bldg. for the nursing program that they expect to begin with 40 students in fall 2013. The 12,000-sf center will have 47 spaces and labs that will simulate a hospital facility at a cost of around $1 million.
- Union Pacific Transload Facility: Union Pacific is currently taking bids for a transload facility to be built on property east of JBS Pkwy. and south of Business I-20. Construction is due to begin in May.
- Standard Sales: Plans are underway for a new 150,000-sf. distribution warehouse on a 20.3-acre tract in the OIDC JBS Business Park. This tract is south of the intersection of Pearl St. and JBS Pkwy.
- New subdivision: Clearing is underway for a new single-family subdivision that is located between San Machell Dr. and Eastridge. This tract is between Vista La Paz and the Mission Dorado apartments.
- Iron Guard Housing: A major trailer park facility in West Odessa has opened for 50 workers that feature new Clayton Homes, two bedroom, two baths, fully furnished, linen service, housekeeping and all utilities paid.
