SAN ANTONIO - The Pearl Brewery has plans for additional residential and commercial projects — the Cellars and Bottling House — aside from the 146-room hotel already underway.
The Cellars, located just south of the former brew house, will use space from a building in which the beer fermenting vessels were stored. Plans for the Cellars include 102 residential units with one to three bedrooms. The project will have about 8,000 sf of commercial space on the ground floor.
Another facility — once used as a bottling warehouse — will be leveled to make room for loft space and an entrance to a 191-space, underground parking lot. The upscale apartments will average about 1,200 sf, with rents at $2 or more per sf.
To the east, plans are to rebuild the bottling house, which burned in a 2004 fire. The 6,000-sf building's facade will be rebuilt to look like the original bottling house built in 1897. The development also includes seven retailers and eight restaurant and bars.
Work on these projects is expected to begin in the fall, with completion sometime in early 2015.
