MIDLAND - For the first time in the city’s history, a sales tax collection broke the $4 million barrier.
The City of Midland collected $4,006,408 in revenue from the Comptroller’s office. That was a 15.7 percent or $543,609 increase from February 2012, which at the time was the previous record for a month.
Year-to-date sales tax collections are up by more than 15 percent compared to the same time last year. Fiscal year-to-date sales tax revenue is $16,168,954.
