HOUSTON - The University of Houston's $105 million, 40,000-seat stadium is underway.

The new stadium will include 26 suites, 34 loge boxes and 160 concession points of sale. The complex will also include the Bert F. Winston Band and Performance Center — 39,089-sf building housing the band recital halls, classroom spaces and the University of Houston Athletics Ticket Office.

The stadium’s design allows for expansion to 60,000.

Robertson Stadium, the Cougars' longtime home, was demolished in December 2012. The new stadium is scheduled to open August 30, 2014.
