Renaissance revival in SE Cowtown with Walmart
FORT WORTH – The Renaissance Square development is going up in one of the often-neglected parts of the county, at the corner of US 287 and E. Berry St. The 197-acre project is expected to bring $215 million worth of urban revitalization to the area, and 1,300 retail jobs.
The 187,000-sf Walmart Superstore — the anchor for the shopping center — opened its doors earlier in February. Other tenants that have agreed to the project are Marshall’s, Ross Dress for Less, Shoe Carnival, Pet sense, rue 21, dots shoes and Mattress Firm.
Eighty acres have been zoned for residential, including single-family, multifamily, townhomes and senior living. Another 20 acres is set aside for The Suites, an office development.
