DALLAS-FORT WORTH – Apartment development never really stopped in DFW during the recession. Over the past year, total construction has almost doubled, with a nation-leading 19,930 units underway at the end of 2012.
Dallas leads the metro with 3,532 units underway, but only eight of DFW’s 36 submarkets had no ongoing construction at the end of 2012.
North Texas occupancy levels logged a rate of 93.7 percent in 4Q 2012, up 0.4 points year-over-year.
