McALLEN - The City of McAllen has received five proposals to redevelop the McAllen Civic Center property. The 13.4-acre property at 10th St. and Expy. 83 has been appraised at $6.4 million, according to city records.
The five offers came from Cielo Realty Partners, H-E-B, Property Commerce, a partnership between Weingarten Realty Investors and Rioco Real Estate Services and a partnership between Majestic Realty and White-Leasure Development.
“H-E-B is proposing to redevelop the Civic Center site into a first class center with architecture like no other retail development in the Rio Grande Valley — a fitting icon to the entrance to the La Paloma district,” according to an H-E-B statement.
The proposed H-E-B would feature more than 100,000 sf, according to H-E-B.
