Spare Time rolls into Temple
TEMPLE – The $6 million Spare Time Fun Center will open April 8, according to Mike Emmons, Spare Time operating partner. The 40,000-sf complex is in west Temple on 205 Loop off West Adams Ave.
The new venue will feature 24 bowling lanes, eight of them in a semi-private bowling lounge, an arcade and prize store and a two-story laser tag arena. It also has seven party rooms, a 200-person banquet room and a full-service bar and grill.
About 80 full- and part-time employees will be hired. Management positions and some full-time jobs have been filled, Emmons said.
In 2012, the city approved a five-year, 100 percent tax abatement for the project, which is estimated to be worth $56,790. The agreement says that Spare Time must hire at least 75 employees.
