HOUSTON - H-E-B Grocery Co. plans to open a new store on the southeast corner of San Felipe and Fountain View in the Galleria area. The new store is a relocation of the current store on Fountain View and Westheimer — one of the oldest H-E-B stores in the Houston area.

The store is still in the design phase and will model the format of the Montrose location, at W. Alabama and Dunlavy, which recently won an Urban Land Institute award.

The project will be just a stone's throw away from the Whole Foods at Blvd Place mixed-use development at Post Oak Blvd. and San Felipe — which is expected to be completed in summer 2014. The H-E-B project opening date will be in fall 2014.

This is one of several new locations opening this year in the area. H-E-B recently announced its fourth location in The Woodlands and the company has 22.2 percent of the market share in Houston.
