NRH mattress firm near Iron Horse to GM accessories
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS – Accessory distributor Southwest ADI and Frank Kent Motor Co. will convert a former 15-acre Sealy bedding plant into a corporate headquarters.
The location will be the companies’ General Motors aftermarket accessory business and their Texas training facility.
Frank Kent Motor Co., which owns Southwest ADI, bought the 125,000-sf facility at 6550 Wuliger Way. The 15-acre property just north of NE Loop 820 near Iron Horse Blvd. had been vacant for 18 months.
The new location will employ about 50 full-time employees and provide space to train up to 75 people from the dealers serviced by Southwest ADI — the exclusive automotive accessories distributor for GM brands in the Dallas-Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley areas.
An economic incentive agreement with the city requires Frank Kent Motor and Southwest ADI to create at least 40 jobs by the end of the year, said Craig Hulse, director of economic development for North Richland Hills.
The company plans to employ about 50 people by the end of the year and invest $2 million into plant improvements and equipment at the headquarters and training facility, Hulse said.
