SAN ANTONIO – South Bay Partners is gearing up for its latest senior-care facility in San Antonio’s far West Side. The site for the project is 22 acres of land along Alamo Ranch Pkwy. and Westwood Loop, in proximity to the SH 151/Loop 1604 intersection.

Boasting a mix of independent-, assisted-living and memory-care units, South Bay’s latest campus will offer what’s known as the continuum of care for seniors.

The independent-living portion of the project, known as Watercrest at Alamo Ranch, will feature 192 apartments and 26 villas. The campus will also feature a 122-bed assisted-living/memory care community known as Isle at Watercrest at Alamo Ranch.

Construction on Watercrest is expected to get underway this June. The facility will likely enter the market during late summer or early fall of 2014. Development costs for Watercrest have been calculated at $60 million.

Watercrest is South Bay’s second project in San Antonio. Its first, a 67-bed facility focusing exclusively on Alzheimer’s care, is set to open at Blanco and Huebner Roads on the far North Side during third quarter of this year. Development costs for the project are estimated at roughly $9 million.
