WICHITA FALLS - AT&T plans to add 115 new customer service representative jobs to its 275-employee customer service force at the call center on Kell Blvd.

Recruiters are looking for people to handle 60-80 calls a day in a friendly and fast manner, according to Brian Newcomb, director of the call center.

The first group of 20 new hires began a six-week training program. Newcomb said they should get the remaining 95 new hires in the organization’s training program by the end of May.

Those hired by AT&T will start at an hourly wage between $10.73 and $11.63 depending on level of experience. The employees are also eligible for health benefits as well as a pension plan.

The 115 jobs at AT&T — coupled with the 54 indirect or induced jobs in the community — will have an economic impact of about $8 million, according to Kevin Pearson, interim president of the Wichita Falls Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
