Hutto breaks ground on YMCA
HUTTO – The new Hutto Family YMCA located at Hwy. 79 and CR 165 is underway. The Hutto Family YMCA branch will total 22,000 sf and cost $5.5 million. The facility is a joint venture of the City of Hutto, the YMCA of Greater Williamson County and NewQuest Properties.
Design for the new facility includes a teen center, child care area, indoor recreational, lap and warm-water therapy pool, spa, a community kitchen, weight-lifting area, exercise machines, spin and aerobics rooms as well as a cardio theater.
The branch is a joint partnership between the City of Hutto, the YMCA of Greater Williamson County and NewQuest Properties. The project completion and opening of the new facility is expected in January 2014.
Construction of the Hutto Family YMCA is only one of many commercial projects underway in Hutto.
The East Williamson County Higher Education Center broke ground on an 110,000-sf facility that is set to open this fall.
New residential permits are also on the rise as the city issued over 220 permits in 2012 and is on pace to issue over 400 in 2013.
