UMC named best place to work in Texas

LUBBOCK – University Medical Center (UMC), UMC Physician Network Services (UMC PNS) and Covenant Levelland received honors by the Best Companies Group for 2013.

UMC was named the best business out of 33 large employers to work for in Texas in 2013. UMC PNS ranked 22nd and Covenant Levelland was ranked 30th out of 34 in the medium-employer category.

Data collection is spread into three categories: small employer, 15–99 employees; medium employer, 100–499 employees; and large employer, 500 or more employees.

The Best Companies Group (BCG) is a national organization based in Harrisburg, Pa., that honors businesses by rating them according to data from employee surveys, said Susan Springer, director of workplace assessments for BCG.
