EL PASO - Demolition has started at the 22,000-sf El Paso Science Center on Santa Fe St., paving the way for the $50 million Downtown El Paso ballpark.
The El Paso City Council approved the $50 million Triple-A ballpark to be built in the place of City Hall and the Science Center (also known as the Insights museum) in June 2012.
The Insights building, which has been empty since early February 2013, will be cleared away by the end of March. City Hall will also be demolished and cleared by the end of April. The ballpark is scheduled to host opening day in April 2014.
