COPPERAS COVE - New tenants filed permits for spaces in the Five Hills shopping center and the developer said two pad site leases may start construction soon.

In late February, the city issued four commercial remodel permits to contractors for stores in the 3000 block of East US 190 — the two buildings constructed by Endeavor Real Estate next to H-E-B Plus. Those businesses include Sports Clips, Eye City, Nail Salon & Spa and an AT&T.

Among the largest of those tenants is AT&T, with about 4,000 sf, said Daniel Campbell, a spokesman for Endeavor Real Estate. Endeavor expects a mid-May opening for the AT&T store at Five Hills.

As construction continues, about 14,000 sf, or about 40 percent, remains to be leased in the buildings by H-E-B.

To the west of H-E-B, two commercial pad sites are about to enter lease agreements and construction should start soon, Campbell told the city council.

A map acquired from the Copperas Cove Economic Development Corp. denotes a Panda Express and a Chick-fil-A as coming to those sites.
