ELSA - Walmart is slated to open a store at the intersection of Mile 16 and Broadway in summer 2014.

It will be a 180,000-sf supercenter with a full grocery, bakery, deli and produce department in addition to the store’s pharmacy, clothing, sporting goods, electronics, home improvement and beauty areas.

The new store is expected to employ about 300 people, according to the company. The average wage for regular Walmart workers in Texas is $12.54 per hour.

Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation information indicates the $10 million project is estimated to start July 1 and be completed by June 1, 2014. The city annexed the 43 acres where the store will sit into city limits earlier this year.
