AMARILLO - Construction is set to begin on a 24,000-sf building devoted to children’s ministry and childcare for Saint Stephen United Methodist Church.
The cost for the overall project is approximately $5.5 million which is covered by the church’s capital campaign, according to Jennifer Pohlmeier, the director of children’s ministries. The tentative completion date for the building is mid-January 2014.
The Children’s Ministry Building will feature modernized classrooms, large worship spaces, an indoor play facility, and two outdoor playgrounds designed for younger and older children.
“We really worked to accommodate what Mother’s Day Out and preschool would need but still make it a place that’s a worship space for children,” Pohlmeier said.
