Austin’s fastest-growing neighborhoods
AUSTIN – The local home market is one of the hottest in the country, according to data provided by Metrostudy that are based on annual housing starts. The data show where the bulk of the activity has been taking place during 2012.
Although not breaking through to the top five, Summerlyn in Leander saw the largest increase of home starts with 75 more slabs poured over the previous year’s count.

Overall, the 2012 top five listmakers are credited with 1,070 of the 3,138 housing starts for the top 25 neighborhoods. By comparison, the top five listmakers last year poured 1,024 of the 2,695 slabs.
