WACO - State Comptroller Glenn Hegar sent the city a $2.79 million payment, which is 5.46 percent more than the $2.65 million it received in June of last year, according to a news release from the comptroller’s office.
So far this calendar year, Waco has received rebates totaling $17.8 million, a 5.8 percent increase over last year. Rebates received in June reflect sales in April that are reported to the state in May.
Statewide, sales tax revenue in May totaled $2.6 billion, a 5.2 percent increase.
