Longview’s Good Shepherd expands northward
LONGVIEW – Good Shepherd Health System has broken ground on a new $20 million, 74,000-sf facility in North Longview.
Located adjacent to Good Shepherd Medical Center’s Institute for Healthy Living on Hawkins Pkwy., the facility will take about a year for completion once work starts.
The new center will combine several medical disciplines including X-Ray and digital mammography and laboratory services attached to a 24-hour emergency service. Longview Orthopedics also will move to the facility.
Good Shepherd’s project has broken ground less than a year after Longview Regional Medical Center embarked on an estimated $40 million expansion of its own facilities. That project, at Fourth St. and Hollybrook Dr., will more than double the size of the 30-year-old hospital.
