HomeWood at Zion opens in Houston’s Third Ward
HOUSTON – HomeWood at Zion, a 70-unit affordable housing community, has opened at 2502 Webster St. in the Third Ward. The $12 million multifamily community spans nearly 80,000 sf.
Sponsored by Re-Ward Third Ward, a local nonprofit community housing development organization, the community will include two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. Some units will be restricted to households earning less than 60 percent and less than 50 percent of the area median income.
The City of Houston’s Housing and Community Development Department provided $1.3 million in HOME funds, and the National Equity Fund provided $8 million for the $12 million project. Some of the units will be restricted to households earning less than 60 percent and less than 50 percent of the area median income.
