WACO – Corpus Christi-based Stripes has identified three more locations where it hopes to open convenience stores, with a goal of eventually placing ten in Central Texas as it expands from strongholds in South and West Texas.

The locations include two on China Spring Rd., one at the intersection of Flat Rock Rd. and another at FM 185, near the Hillcrest China Spring Clinic. The third is at FM 185 and SH 6, west of the twin bridges.

Stripes plans to break ground on their New Rd. and Bagby Ave. location on April 16. Crews already have begun work at that site for a prototypical 6,844-sf store that will sell gasoline and operate a Laredo Taco Co. restaurant.

Other site locations Stripes has acquired include the Town & Country Gardens location at 603 S. Valley Mills Dr., South 26th St. and Franklin Ave., Sun Valley Blvd. and Bagby Ave., and US 77 and Primrose Dr.

Construction is expected to be complete on at least five stores by year-end 2013.

Most locations operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and employ between 20 and 30 people.
