Two new Shops at La Palmera in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI – T.J. Maxx and HomeGoods will open fall 2013 at The Shops at La Palmera. Both are owned by TJX Companies Inc., a discount retailer of apparel and home fashions.

Construction has begun on the more than 44,000-sf space. Each store will have a separate entrance, but plans include shoppers being able to move between them once inside.

It’s part of the 200,000-sf outdoor center’s redevelopment, planned to feature more the two dozen retail and dining businesses. Also planned for opening this fall is Dick’s Sporting Goods. Adjacent Corner Bakery Café construction will soon be complete, and it’s planned to open in June.

The center was purchased in April 2012 by Trademark Property Co. and joint venture partner Institutional Mall Investors LLC.
