Costco coming to far north Fort Worth
FORT WORTH – Costco Wholesale is under contract to buy 17 acres in the Presidio Junction development in far north Fort Worth.
Once infrastructure is completed, construction will begin on the $11 million, 153,847-sf store at 8900 Tehama Ridge Pkwy. Construction is expected to last four months, with the store opening in late spring 2014.
Located in Presidio Junction on the west side of I-35W and south of N. Tarrant Pkwy., the store will be Costco’s fourth Tarrant County location and will have about 200 employees, about half of which will be full time.
Presidio Junction is a 300-acre master-planned community being developed by LNR, which bought the land in 2007. LNR has planned 1 million sf for shops and restaurants, 1,300 apartments and 750,000 sf for a hotel, a fitness center and Class A office space.
LNR has developed the Wyatt at Presidio Junction apartment community and sold land to Lowe’s Home Centers in 2008.
