McKINNEY – Beck Group of Dallas and Champ Hospitality plan to restart construction in summer 2013 on a 186-room hotel near US 75 and SH 121.

The site was supposed to have been a five-story Westin Hotel. But the project went into bankruptcy during the recession in 2008 and work was abandoned.

The site will now house a four-star hotel and 20,000-sf conference facility, according to the McKinney Economic Development Corp.

Next door, construction has been underway since last year on Emerson Process Management’s three-story, 132,000-sf office and research center. The corporate facility will open summer 2013.
