COLLEGE STATION – With all the growth at Northgate and the Research Valley Biocorridor, the City of College Station is expected to build a $4.7 million substation to handle the growth.
Around 1,700 bedrooms are currently under construction on Northgate, with an additional 2,000 on the horizon. And that’s on top of all the buildings that will be built in the Research Valley Biocorridor.
City planners say the new substation will go next to the Texas A&M substation on Agronamy Rd. Construction should be complete by December 2013.
This new substation will be the seventh in College Station.
