DALLAS - The 62,000-sf House of Blues building has been purchased by W.P. Carey Inc. for $16 million. The building, located at 2200 N. Lamar St., had been for sale since 2010 with an original asking price of more than $19 million.
Live Nation Entertainment, which operates the House of Blues music and entertainment venue, will continue to occupy the building on a long-term lease.
Built in 1913, the three-story brick building was originally a warehouse for White Swan Foods Co. In 2006, the old warehouse was extensively remodeled by Hillwood Capital into the House of Blues. A Hillwood affiliate sold the property on the edge of Dallas’ Victory Park.
