EL PASO – Petco, the second-largest pet-supply retail chain in the nation is opening hree stores is the area, including two opening this mouth.

The first Petco store to open June 13 in the new $45 million North Hills Crossing shopping center at Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. and US Hwy. 54 in Northeast El Paso.

The store will open in the 250,000-sf center, where previously a Dollar Tree stood.

The second store will open June 27 in Bassett Place at I-10 and Geronimo Dr. in East-Central El Paso.

The third Petco store is still under construction in the Home Depot shopping center at Zaragoza Rd. and Joe Battle Blvd. in far East El Paso.

That store is expected to open in the fall, said Adam Frank, president of River Oaks Properties, a large El Paso shopping center developer.
