BASTROP - The Bastrop Economic Development Corporation has announced that Johnson Architectural Metal Company (JAMCo) will build its Texas headquarters and manufacturing facility in Bastrop.

The new $2.26 million, 30,100-sf plant will be located in the Bastrop Business and Industrial Park at the intersection of South Jackson St. and South St. just south of Hwy. 71.

JAMCo is a commercial construction contractor that provides custom glass building envelopes for high-rise office facilities nationwide. JAMCo will initially hire 10-15 employees and expects to employ 50 within three years.

Construction of the JAMCo facility is expected to break ground later this spring or early summer.
