Stripes to color Waco with 200 jobs, stores
WACO – Stripes Stores is moving into the Waco market and will create nearly 200 full- and part-time jobs.
The Corpus Christi-based convenience stores chain has broken ground on their first store in Central Texas at New Rd. and Bagby, across from Waco ISD’s football stadium. The first store will open for business in June or July.
Sites for four more stores in the area are already under contract, and the company is considering more. Stripes is making a $20 million investment in the construction of stores in Waco.
Stripes reports that 83 percent of its customers stop for something besides gas. Its Laredo Taco restaurant in each store is their signature, featuring homemade tortillas and salsa made fresh each day.
