Wichita Falls: Eagle Railcar rumbles down phase two track
WICHITA FALLS – Eagle Railcar is moving into its second expansion phase as quick as a freight train rumbling on a rail in open country.
It was fast and aggressive action by the company, the city and the Wichita Falls Economic Development Corp (WFEDC) that made the project possible given the company opened in 2014.
The railcar refurbishment and repair facility now has 73 employees and anticipates reaching 200 or more in a few years.
"It’s just an incredible, diverse business for our community,” said Dick Bundy, chairman of the WFEDC board.
The incentive package — approved by the Wichita Falls City Council — included a $500,000 forgivable loan to purchase equipment, cash for new positions and skills development training reimbursement up to $76,800.
