HOUSTON – CyrusOne Inc. has purchased 32 acres next to its campus in northwest Houston.

The data center company said the additional 32 acres will increase its “Houston West” campus size to 45 acres. The existing campus is specially designed for oil and gas companies to store their data.

CyrusOne operates three data centers throughout Houston, including the “Houston West” data center. The company said that with the expansion, it hopes to increase its oil and gas business, particularly as more companies are storing data from fracking operations.

CyrusOne moved its Houston headquarters to the Dallas area when the company went public in January 2013.
