EL PASO – El Paso County Hospital District has announced the sale of $255.7 million in municipal bonds in its largest debt offering ever. The district plans to use $139.9 million in tax and revenue certificates of obligation to renovate and expand the University Medical Center of El Paso.
The project will include three new outpatient clinics to boost access to health services. The 395-bed acute-care facility serves Texas’s sixth-largest city and is a teaching hospital for Texas Tech University’s medical school.
The sale is the largest for the district since it was formed in 1958.
