COLLIN COUNTY – Dallas-based developer Huffines Communities has bought nearly 600 acres of land in Collin County for its new master-planned community, Parker Lakeside.

The 1,400-home development is eight miles east of N. Central Expy. on Parker Rd., with more than four miles of frontage on the west side of Lake Lavon.

Huffines Communities bought the land from Hanover Group, which acquired the land from the Caruth Estate, which had owned the property since the 1960s.

By the time Parker Lakeside is completed, the project is expected to have a tax value of more than half a billion dollars. Homes will range from $260,000 to $1 million.

Construction is scheduled to begin in late summer 2013, after which Huffines Communities plans to sell off land to home builders.
