COLLEGE STATION - The Texas A&M Board of Regents approved a $450 million redevelopment plan to transform Kyle Field on May 1, 2013.
The new Kyle Field will be the biggest college football stadium in the state and will also take the lead in the SEC. The planned capacity is 102,500. The plan calls for sweeping changes both in and outside of the stadium.
While 31,000 always-standing students will remain on a partially rebuilt east side, new seating areas will be significant. The premium areas will include loge boxes, luxury suites and a premium club that will extend from goal line to goal line on the second deck of the west side. The field will be lowered and fans will move closer.
The major work is scheduled to begin following the 2013 season and be finished by August 2015.
