LONGVIEW - The City of Longview has issued a permit for a 61,900-sf, three-story medical office building (MOB) for Longview Regional Medical Center, with a value of $5.1 million. The office building is a part of a big expansion project announced in June 2012 by the hospital.

The project included doubling surgical operating rooms to 16 from eight, doubling of intensive care unit beds to 24 from 12, almost tripling labor delivery and postpartum beds to 43 from 15, new neonatal intensive care unit with 21 beds and a new oncology unit with eight beds.

In total, the nearly 175,000 sf of new construction and addition of nearly 100 patient beds will roughly double the medical center’s facilities.

Longview building permits approved from April 21-27, 2013, were valued at $16.8 million and represented nearly 400,000 sf of new construction and renovation across the city.
