Houston Emerson opens, ramps up jobs
HOUSTON – Emerson Process Management opened its valve automation American headquarters — a $30 million manufacturing and office space near Hwy. 290 and FM 1960. Now the company is investing another $9.5 million to further expand the facility.
Emerson originally planned to have 175 employees move to the facility and gradually ramp up the employee number to 250 in the next three years. Now, instead of hiring an additional 75 new workers, Emerson said it plans to hire 126 new workers for the expanded facility to bring the total to 301 employees.
To help with the expansion process, Emerson received a $1 million grant from the Texas Enterprise Fund.
The newest expansion comes on the heels of Emerson’s $34 million Emerson Industrial Center for Hydrocarbon and Energy that opened off Beltway 8 and Bellaire Blvd. in early 2012. The 160,000-sf facility has more than 350 employees with plans to add an additional 100 by 2015.
Emerson Process Management is the process automation technologies branch of St. Louis-based Emerson Electric Co. About 40 percent of Emerson Process Management’s sales come from the oil and gas industry.
